The purpose of this course is to provide you with a better understanding of cost analysis and the techniques and procedures that are used in the review and analysis of a contractor’s proposal. At the end of this course, you should be able to: Have a better understanding of the basic requirements of cost analysis; Describe the responsibilities of the contractor and Contracting Officer when submitting and reviewing cost proposals and the agencies that can provide assistance; Understand how to create a well-written request for proposal and supporting documentation; Identify areas that should be reviewed first when a contractor’s proposal has been received in order to determine the level of detail review that will be required; Review/evaluate proposed direct and indirect costs in a proposal; Evaluate a contractor’s proposed profit or fee included in their proposal; and Prepare the Cost/Price Analysis Report based on the results of your analysis of a contractor’s proposal.
