This training was developed to help Construction Managers understand the requirements involved with turning over a new facility. Much of the information presented in this training module was taken from the Naval Facilities Engineering Command’s Business Management System, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and Unified Facilities Guide Specifications. There are many milestones that a large construction project goes through during the construction phase. These milestones often include demolition of existing facilities, exterior building shell construction, interior work such as foundations and partition walls, final finishes, and final landscaping work to complete the project. However, the actual process of Building Acceptance and Turnover is also a key milestone and a critical part of the overall construction process. Part of the NAVFAC CI Construction CM Basic Training series.
