The intent of this training is to provide Construction Managers with a general understanding of the administrative requirements for contractor and government quality assurance personnel concerning construction safety. Topics include an overview of recent OSHA Statistics, a description of the EM 385-1-1 Safety and Health Requirements Manual, an introduction to the Unified Facilities Guide Specification for Governmental Safety Requirements, a review of the roles and responsibilities of the Contractor’s Site Safety and Health Officer, specific requirements for weight handling equipment, requirements for a project site Safety and Health bulletin board, a listing of project safety meetings, an explanation of the Contractor Safety Self-Evaluation Checklist, an explanation of operational risk management, the STAR award program, a review of the required safety training for NAVFAC Construction Managers, and an introduction to facility system safety.
