Before a new requirement reaches your desk, some method of forecasting and approval occurred for that new requirements. The leadership of respective NAVFAC commands identify their needs at their command level and then these requirements are rolled up for prioritization and approval across the NAVFAC community. Within NAVFAC, some of the major business lines develop an acquisition strategy for forecasting their contractual needs to meet their stated mission. Once new requirements have been approved, the logical next step is the acquisition planning to identify the best method of acquiring the identified services. This course looks at how NAVFAC forecasts and approves new requirements, as well as the steps involved with selecting/approving the appropriate strategy for acquiring the specific services.
