Program offices have lost millions of dollars by failing to understand the difference between a severable and non-severable effort. The goals of this course are to equip you to make strategic decisions in drafting procurement requests and statements of work to avoid losing funds, and also to reinforce the importance of discussing severability requirements, funding profiles, and Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) structures during your Procurement Planning Strategy Meeting (PPSM). This training provides a common understanding of the importance of discussing the following at the PPSM: the difference between severable and non-severable Statements of Work (SOW) and Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs) and Sub-Line Item Numbers (SLINs); when 2410a authority is applicable, how it applies, and the restrictions it places on CLINs; and the limitations on Periods of Performance (PoPs) and funding created by different CLIN structures.
