NSWCPD Funds Administration

Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) has been using the Navy Working Capital Fund accounting system for years. The names have changed from Modified Industrial Funds (MIF) to Navy Industrial Funds (NIF) to Defense Business Operating Funds (DBOF) and now Navy Working Capital Fund (NWCF). This type of system is run similar to a private business versus government agencies. This course outlines some of the details of how it operates. Topics include an overview of NWCF, Funds Administrator responsibilities, the types of funding received via the Reimbursable Work Orders and the funds flow, the Stabilized Labor Rates, the overall budget and appropriation process, the financial system via an SAP system or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Standard Cost Function elements.
